Final Update Before Winner Announcement
This will be our final update before the winners are announced tomorrow. With the rapid growth of AI in healthcare, we received an incredible range of innovative submissions. To evaluate them, we conducted an initial screening to identify the top 65 projects that demonstrated meaningful AI applications. These selected projects are featured in the Projects Gallery.
In the next round, we assessed alignment with key technical submission criteria, including:
- Clear demonstration of FHIR data usage
- Implementation of EHR Launch framework or CDS Hooks
- Functional integrations in demos rather than conceptual presentations
In the final round, apps were ranked based on our judging criteria, with a diverse panel of experts providing well-rounded evaluations.
Recognizing the Potential in All Submissions
While only a few apps could be selected as winners, many submissions demonstrated strong potential. Unfortunately, some promising entries did not adequately showcase the required technical integrations in their demos and could not be considered.
We were especially amazed by the number of entries that pushed the boundaries of LLM usage, going beyond simply connecting to an LLM through an API. Just a few months ago, some of these LLM-driven ideas would have been groundbreaking, but with the rapid pace of AI adoption, the winning entries had to go even further. We are confident that as AI continues to evolve, many of these ideas will carve out their niche, and we hope to be part of that journey.
Regardless of the results, we sincerely appreciate the time, effort, and innovation you brought to this competition. We look forward to engaging with you in the coming days and continuing this journey together!
Where Do We Go From Here?
This hackathon has also been a valuable learning experience for us. Building great healthcare apps requires the right tools, resources, and support, and we are committed to continuously improving MeldRx based on feedback from the developer community. We are actively developing programs to support developers like you and to establish MeldRx as the go-to platform for launching innovative healthcare app solutions.
Darena Solutions will continue to offer a free MeldRx developer subscription, ensuring access to all MeldRx features that allow you to learn, build, and test your apps using FHIR, the global standard for healthcare interoperability. The apps you develop on MeldRx are designed to work seamlessly anywhere FHIR is used, maximizing their potential reach. With a free developer account, you can publish your apps and make them available to a growing list of MeldRx customers.
For those looking to monetize their app ideas, we will provide two pathways:
- MeldRx Developer Premium - Allow developers to sell their apps to existing MeldRx customers. Premium subscribers can also offer trials and access analytics on how their extensions are used within workspaces.
- MeldRx Workspace Reseller - This includes all Developer Premium features and enables developers to bundle their apps with workspaces, offering end-to-end, white-labeled solutions to customers.
MeldRx Accelerator Program
To ensure that we continue to align with developers’ needs, we will soon launch the MeldRx Accelerator Program. This program is designed to help startups and established apps fast-track their entry into the market. While we are finalizing the details, the program will offer selected teams the following benefits:
- Waived platform fees for Developer Premium for 6 months, extendable up to a year
- Workspace Reseller Credits for you to start selling your solution at little or no cost
- 1:1 technical mentoring from the MeldRx team
- Visibility through the MeldRx App Store and promotion via our channels
- Access to sales channels through the MeldRx Reseller Program
- Feature request prioritization, ensuring your feedback helps shape the future of MeldRx
We will soon open applications for the first cohort of 20 participants, who will be selected on specific criteria. If you're interested in being among the first to participate, complete this form to be notified when applications open.
We’re excited to continue learning and growing alongside the developer community, shaping the future of AI-driven healthcare together. We can’t wait to see what you build next!
